With a pair of victories at the Rock Valley Tournament, Ellsworth Community College extended their win streak to seven in a row and nine of their last 10 matches.

The first Panther win on Saturday was versus Highland Community College. ECC hit .350 in a 25-11 dominating opening game win. The Scotties kept it closer the next two, but it remained a three set sweep with the 25-22, 25-20 Panther victory.

ECC put down 34 kills in the win, led by Juliana Nunez with 11. Adriana Tiedt and Elsa Raga each added seven. Nunez finished with a double-double of 12 digs and then added five ace serves in the win.

The first game versus College of Lake County was once again a commanding win for the Panthers, who hit .381 and got the 25-8 victory. That carried ECC who went on to record the 25-12, 25-21 win to not drop a set in the tournament.

Nine different players had kills versus Lake County, Raga led with seven, Nunez added six and Tiedt five. Serving was on point as the Panthers served up 14 aces and just four errors behind the service line. Leading the way was Nunez with five ace serves and Vera Hojnacki added four.

In six sets, Nunez finished with 17 kills, Raga had 14 and Tiedt 12. Hojnacki tallied 52 assists. Nunez also led the team in digs with 25 and aces with 10. Camylle Le Meur added 21 digs, followed by Madi Hughston’s 17 and Hojnacki’s 12.

The wins improve ECC’s overall record to 15-9.
