NIACC earns pair of wins to take series

Ellsworth Community College (19-21, 5-13) finished its season series versus No. 22 NIACC on Wednesday and fell by 8-1 and 9-1 scores.

The Panthers found themselves down 6-0 before scoring one run in the top of the fourth. The hosts added another pair in the bottom of the frame for the 8-1 victory. Jolene Jordahl had the lone hit and Ella Garstang scored ECC's run.

Jordahl took the loss and went four innings, allowed eight hits, eight runs (three earned), walked two and fanned four. Peytin Clemensen also threw two innings with two hits and a strikeout.

The Panthers had a pair of hits in the second game, both from Payton Nolan. The shortstop went 2-3 and both were doubles.

Starting pitcher Alexis Obermeier only threw an inning and took the loss. She gave up five hits, six runs, three earned and struck out one. Millicent Wurst threw two innings and Alicia Cumberland pitched the final inning.
