In the Region XI-B semifinals, Ellsworth Community College suffered a season ending loss to DMACC by scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-15.
The Bears hitting percentage for the match was .226 and in the first set was .375 with 10 kills. ECC had 14 hits and seven errors in the seven-point loss.
Game two was tight with the hosts pulling out the 25-23 win with 13 kills. With all of the momentum in their favor, DMACC won the third and deciding game 25-15. The two recorded similar offensive numbers. The Panthers finished with 35 kills and a kill efficiency of .159. In her final game in an ECC uniform, Juliana Nunez led the squad with 11 kills and eight digs. Madi Hughston was also in double figures with 10 hits. She added two aces and eight passes.
The Bears had just one more hit (36) and two in double digits as well. The big difference came defensively and behind the service line. DMACC finished with 14 blocks, 56 digs and 12 service aces. The Panthers tallied a pair of solo stops by Anthea Deweer, 47 digs and four aces. Lauren Mauk was the lone ECC player in double figures passing with 11.
