The Ellsworth Community College men's and women's basketball teams took home conference wins this past Saturday when they traveled to Fort Dodge to take on Iowa Central. Both games came down to single digit wins for the the Panthers; the women won 44-40, and the men came out on top 72-69.
The ECC women were led in scoring by Antoinette Williams, who had 18 points and 5 assists. Jade Brown and Jahne Williams each contributed 9 points for the win. Rebekah Hart led the Panthers in rebounds with 7. The game difference-maker was turnovers, with ECC committing 9 and Iowa Central 18.
ECC men were led in scoring by Keeon Johnson, who had 24 points; he made 6 of 9 from three point range. Johnson was followed by Tavares McGlaun, who contributed 10 points. Mike evans led the team in rebounds with 8.
The Panther women will travel to Iowa Lakes for their next game on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 pm. The men will host Grand View JV tonight at 7:30 pm.
