Ellsworth Community College volleyball is proud to announce that sophomores Carlin Whelpley and Tiffany Jacobson have received post-season honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).
Whelpley received Region XI-A Second Team honors as well as Honorable Mention All-Conference. During the 2016 season she accumulated 71 total attacks, 39 assists, 27 services aces and 541 digs. Not only did she lead the Panthers in digs, but her performance over the season placed her 5th in digs and 4th in digs per set within the ICCAC. Whelpley plans to study communications and continue her playing career, but is unsure of exactly where that will be yet.
"Carlin was the very first recruit I ever signed, so she will always hold a special place in my heart," commented ECC Head Volleyball Coach Ashley Clark. "She has been a great asset to this program, as well as in the campus community. Her work ethic and dedication have really shown over the past year. I am extremely proud of the things she has accomplished and of the person she has become while here at ECC."
Jacobson received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. She had 271 kills, 64 total blocks and 331 points for the 2016 volleyball season. Jacobson plans to attend UNI and continue her education after completing this Fall semester at ECC.
"Tiffany has been the energy and voice that drove our team. She gave so much of herself to her teammates," commented Clark. "Not only is she statistically our best point scorer, but many of those points scored by her turned into 2-3 more points for us. Tiffany has also grown so much over the past year. I am very proud."
