ECC volleyball takes home third straight win

The Ellsworth Community College volleyball team is on a three-game winning streak. After defeating Southwestern and Grand View JV at home this past week, the Panthers have defeated Clinton Community College at their place 3-0.

The Panthers took all three sets with scores of 25-7, 25-14 and 25-12. Stats leaders included Mary Goergen with 13 kills; Keisha Machado with 6 kills; Cristina Negron with 31 set assists; Paola Soto with 4 aces; Madison Grabau with 7 digs and 3 aces; and Grace Oyola and April Jones with 2 blocks apiece.

"We hit well offensively and had good energy last night," commented ECC Head Coach Melanie Suljic. "We were able to try some new things offensively and we were successful. Serving was also a key for our night last night. It was good to get a conference win in three on the road."

The Panthers will travel to NIACC this weekend, where they'll play Viterbo JV at 9 am and Central JV at 1 pm on Saturday, Oct. 4.
