Ellsworth Community College is proud to announce the signing of April Jones to continue her education and her dual volleyball and basketball careers at Waldorf College.

When asked how she selected Waldorf for her next step, Jones commented, "I decided to attend Waldorf because I wanted to attend another smaller campus. What really got me was how the coaches presented themselves and their programs. I appreciate the strictness of the coaches and am excited to know that I will be pushed to new heights. I plan to learn much more, which will help me as a player and also hopefully one day as a coach. I am looking forward to continuing to play both sports and am grateful for the opportunity to do so at Waldorf."

Jones has played both sports for the Panthers and will be graduating from ECC this spring. During the basketball season she averaged 3.2 rebounds per game and shot 44.6% from the free throw line; her field goal percentage was 31.1%.

"April is a very hard working young lady," commented ECC Head Women's Basketball Coach Ed Geitz. "I have seen a ton of growth in her as an athlete and a person. Her dedication and work ethic will be missed, and I know she will do very well.

Jones was a big contributor for the Panther volleyball team as well. She had 209 kills this season, 17 service aces, 94 digs, and 53 total blocks.

"April is one of the hardest working and committed people I have ever met," commented ECC Head Volleyball Coach Ashley Clark. "She leads by example through the hard work she displays on the court and in the gym. I am confident that she is destined to achieve success in her future, and I wish her all the best in everything that future holds."

Jones has enjoyed her time at ECC, where she experienced many changes during her athletic career. "My time at ECC has been a rollercoaster. Going through new head coaches with volleyball and losing some great teammates between the two seasons of both sports has been a challenge. Each coach and teammate has given me something to take away. Even though it has been stressful, I do believe that what I have learned and what will I will take away from my experience here is great."
