ECC basketball ranked #5 in the nation

The Ellsworth Community College men's basketball team is now ranked number five in the nation, the team's highest ranking since 2009, when it was ranked number one. The ECC Panthers are currently 10-1.

Two big contributors to the Panthers' success this year are sophomores Tonnie Collier and Robert Lee. Collier is averaging 34.75 points per game for the last four games. Lee is currently ranked 1st in the conference and 10th in the nation for scoring. Both players are recent recipients of the ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors.

As a team, the Panthers are averaging 97.2 points per game with a 48.6 field goal percentage, a 31.6 three-point scoring percentage, a 69.9 percent free throw percentage, and an average of 42.5 rebounds per game.

The Panthers' next game will be on the road this Friday, Dec. 6, against Augustana JV in Rock Island, IL.
