ECC remembers Derek Moore

The Ellsworth Community College Athletic Department is remembering Derek Moore, the Missouri Southern State University assistant football coach who was shot and killed Nov. 1 outside a movie theater in Joplin, MO.

Moore played for the ECC Panthers during the 1995-96 season and was part of the 1996 RC Cola Bowl Team. He was a linebacker coach for the Panthers in 1999-2000, and a linebacker, offensive line and defensive line coach in 2000-2001.

"On behalf of the Ellsworth Community College athletic department, faculty and staff we extend our sympathies to Derek's family, friends and co-workers," says ECC Athletic Director Nate Forsyth. "Coach Moore is remembered here as a kind man, a good friend, and a dedicated player and coach who loved the game of football. His family will remain in our thoughts and prayers."
